Superbowl Sunday in the Santa Anita Infield

Santa Anita
Today, we spent most of the day in the infield at Santa Anita celebrating Olin’s birthday.  Megan and Jack picked the winner in the first race we were there for (and bet on)!  A wonderful time was had by all.  See attached pictures for further evidence …

Having just arrived, Megan and Jack took their shoes off and had an exuberant time running around the nearly empty infield.  Note how beautifully green the grass was.  No Photoshop saturation trickery here; it was all natural.

Below, Uncle Josh gets bowled over by Megan, McKenna and Jack.  Note Liz in the background saving Josh’s beer at the last second.

A posed shot and overexposed, but it was about the only time the three stood still together long enough to take a pic.

Love this shot of Megan running, chasing Jack.

Pure happiness …

Another favorite shot … towards the end of the day, and most of our energy was spent.

McKenna had a blast too.

Didn’t know whether I’d actually get a shot of the horses in motion.  Like this, but don’t love it.  Wish I could have been closer (heard Canon just announced they’re working on a 200-400 F4L IS … that would definitely help).

Really love the shot below.  Think this might be wall-worthy.

Finally, opening presents.  Well, present (singular), actually.  Now we just have to load it up with fun stuff!
